Most of the garage doors we supply are what’s termed in the trade as SBD. This means that they are certified as Secured by Design, having all what is needed to keep your garage secure. 

Secured by Design (SBD) is the official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop and visit.

SBD’s product based accreditation scheme – the Police Preferred Specification – provides a recognised standard for all security products that can deter and reduce crime.

In addition to Secured by Design, there are many more steel and aluminium door options from Hörmann with increased security including the certified RC2 and RC3 (resistance class) rated doors.

As we always say, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link so in addition to the security of the main door you need to consider the side door or any windows that may affect your security. A good security alarm which covers the garage as well would also be recommended.
